About Wai's
Traditional Wing Chun. Clear teaching. A path for every student.

At Wai’s, tradition is not treated as a trend—it is lived, practiced, and passed on with care. Founded by Sifu Wayne Belonoha, Wai’s is built on a lifelong commitment to authentic Wing Chun training, disciplined personal growth, and the preservation of traditional Chinese martial culture.
Our approach combines time-tested principles with clear, structured teaching, so students can progress with confidence—whether they are stepping onto the training floor for the first time or pursuing deep, long-term study. Wai’s is a place for serious learning, strong foundations, and meaningful connection to a living tradition.
Why Wai's
Depth, structure and practical skill.

Wai's teaches practical answers, but places those answers inside a complete system so immediate usefulness and long-term development support each other.

45+ Years Experience
A lifetime in martial arts informs how the system is taught, organized and refined.

Ip Man Lineage
The system is transmitted through Moy Yat and Grandmaster Sunny Tang.

Complete Interconnected System
Forms, partner work, Chi Sao, application, theory, dummy and weapons connect rather than stand alone.

Different Goals Are Welcome
Students can practice for personal skill, pursue the complete system, or develop toward teaching and school leadership.

Structured Curriculum
A clear sequence helps prevent important areas from being skipped while allowing students to progress at different speeds.
Meet Sifu Wayne
A teacher shaped by teachers.

A Living Lineage
Lineage is access, not decoration.

Lineage matters because martial arts are transmitted through people. Through Grandmaster Sunny Tang, Sifu Wayne received not only direct instruction but access to respected sifus, grandmasters and lineage holders in the wider kung fu family.

That accumulated experience is difficult to recreate through self-study alone. Wai's treats lineage as both a source of knowledge and a responsibility to preserve, test and pass that knowledge forward clearly.

What is lineage and why is it important?

School & Community
A Kung Fu Family

Traditional kung fu is learned in relationships: teacher to student, senior to junior, and training partner to training partner. Beginners receive help, experienced students are expected to contribute, and people can practice with ambition without turning the room into a fight club.

Recognition & Documentation
Evidence, not the personality of the school.

Published Works
Four Wing Chun books and extensive long-form writing document the system and its teaching.

International Experience
Teaching, judging, standards work, competition, coaching and events have exposed Sifu Wayne & his students to different people and pressures.

Recognition
Awards and Hall of Fame recognition provide supporting evidence, but the student experience remains the focus.
Wai's Around The World
Canada. United States. China.

Wai's connects five schools across Canada, the United States and China through a shared curriculum and continuing instructor development. Different locations can have different schedules and local needs while remaining part of one connected organization.

Our Instructors
Local teachers. Ongoing development.

Wai's instructors teach within the same structured curriculum and continue to receive guidance as they move into the advanced stages of the system. Local instructors lead their schools; Sifu Wayne's role increasingly becomes that of senior mentor and coach, helping them refine technical judgment, teaching decisions and deeper understanding.
