  • What do I have to do to become a student?
We hare happy to invite you to be a part of our legendary lineage from Patriarch Ip Man to Patriarch Moy Yat to Grandmaster Sunny Tang to Senior Master Sifu Wayne. To become a student is a quick and easy process. Simply sign up and attend an orientation session. At the end of the session, if you wish to start the two week trial, we will get you registered. Orientation happens every two weeks on Tuesday at 6:30PM.
  • How does the free trial work? Do I have to pay in advance?
The free trial period is free. You do not have to pay in advance. Here's some more detail about how the process works: When you get registered for ving tsun classes, you will put in your payment information but you will NOT be charged. The first class of your trial will start after orientation. At any point during your two week trial, you can cancel your membership. There is no penalty and you will NOT be charged. At the end of the two week trial, your recurring membership will start. At this point your card will be charged the monthly fee and payments will continue each month on that day. • What extra costs are there?
Course textbooks: We use sifu Wayne's "The Wing Chun Compendium" for our course textbooks. The curriculum includes required reading. The textbooks can be purchased at the school, on the website, at Barnes & Noble, or on amazon.com. The books are available on Kindle too. Costs are about $29 for physical book and about $19 on Kindle. Course videos: We use sifu Wayne's "The Complete Ving Tsun System" hosted at Wing Chun University to supplement learning. Each of the 108 steps has an associated video. These videos are packed with detail and jump start your learning of the next skill in the program as well as providing demonstrations that can be copied, common faults & fixes, small (but important) details, how to use each technique, and more. Videos can be purchased level by level or all at once. You will get your 20% Wing Chun University discount coupon during orientation. The approximate cost is $75 per level; about $6.26 per lesson. Uniform: You will be required to purchase a uniform consisting of shoes, tshirt and kung fu pants. The uniform will cost about $80 and can be purchased any time before your first post-trial class. Grading: Grading is free. If you wish a certificate, sash, and keychain, they can be purchased as a bundle for $50 from the website or individually. The sash is the only required piece. It costs approximately $15 and can be purchased from the website.
  • Can I quit any time? What are the cancellation fees?
You can quit any time by logging in to the website and cancelling your membership plan. There are no cancellation fees and no pressure to stay in a program that no longer aligns with your goals. We ask that you speak with sifu Wayne as a courtesy before quitting. Sifu Wayne puts his heart and effort into developing each student and works to build a relationship that will last a lifetime. There is more to kung fu than just martial skills and sifu Wayne hopes to keep the relationship strong wherever life takes you. Plus quitting something without talking about it first is not the way.
  • What happens if I don't come to class?
We wish to encourage all our students to put in the time and effort required to develop this valuable skill as quickly as possible. With any educational or skill development program, you progress according to the effort you invest. So if you don't attend class it will take you longer to finish the program. We also limit our school membership to 30 students at a time. This ensures every person in class receives quality personalized attention directly from Sifu Wayne. It's the primary reason our student improve as quickly as they do. If your attendance drops below 50%, we may ask that you give your class spot to another student who is on the waiting list and has the time to dedicate to their growth.
